Bulk waste pickup suspended in Warner Robins
Through April 10, the solid waste collection contractor for the city of Warner Robins has suspended curbside bulk-waste pickup, according to city news release.
Regular garbage and yard waste pickup by GFL Environmental Inc. remains on schedule.
Residents are asked to bag all trash before placing it in containers and lids should be completely closed. Only trash full contained inside the trash bins will be picked up, the release said.
How to apply for unemployment benefits online
The Georgia Department of Labor has created a new online tutorial on how to apply for unemployment benefits.
“Everything You Need To Know: How To Apply For An Individual Claim On-line” can be found at https://youtu.be/zgGeXEeQAys, according to an agency Facebook post.

Resources for Georgians losing health insurance coverage
A bulletin has been created about resources resources available for Georgians who lose their jobs and subsequent health insurance coverage during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Options include COBRA continuation coverage for those previously covered by group health plans by private sector employers with at least 20 employees or by state and local governments, according to a news release from Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office.
Other options include a Special Enrollment Period for coverage on the Affordable Care Act Exchange and temporary state coverage provided via the Georgia State Continuation Law, the release said.
For state residents whose health insurance is not employee-sponsored, state Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner John King previously directed health insurers in the state not to cancel policies for non-payment until further notice.
Just Tap’d Beer Festival canceled
Just Tap’d in Macon announced Tuesday that the Just Tap’d Beer Festival scheduled for April 25 will be postponed until April 24, 2021, according to a Facebook post.
“Our top priority is the safety and health of our patrons, artists, guests, staff, vendors and community,” read the post.
Tickets that were purchased for the 2020 festival will be valid for the 2021 festival, and if people with tickets cannot attend the 2021 festival, they need to message Just Tap’d on Facebook.
“We appreciate your patience as we have been diligently making sure that our team members are taken care of during this difficult time. As a small business, we are humbled by the support of our local community,” read the post.
