Monroe County resident tests positive for coronavirus. Here’s what we know.

Monroe County has its first confirmed case of the new coronavirus, according to the North Central Health District.

The Monroe County resident is currently hospitalized and it is unknown at this time how they were exposed to COVID-19. NCHD has not released where the patient is receiving care.

The NCHD is currently working to identify how the person was exposed and who they may have exposed to the virus.

This marks the sixth case in the Middle Georgia area with Macon-Bibb, Houston and Peach County each having one case while Laurens County has two.
