Perdue Farms’ facilities were recognized by the Joint Industry Safety and Health Council for consistently implementing innovative and effective safety and health processes and systems. Perdue received the awards at the 2016 National Safety Conference for the poultry industry. Perdue facilities received the highest number of awards given by the council.

The company’s food-producing facilities that received awards, the council’s highest honor, included two plants in Perry. This marks the fifth straight year both Perry plants have earned the Award of Distinction.

Facilities that were recognized with the Award of Honor, include the feed mill in Forsyth. This facility maintained its OSHA safety metrics at least 25 percent better than the industry for at least three straight years.

Johnston joins Macon law firm

Spivey, Pope, Green & Greer LLC announced that Keith Johnston has joined the firm as an associate. Johnston will practice in the areas of business litigation, general civil litigation and corporate law.

After graduating law school, the Macon native clerked for State Court Judge of Dougherty County Victoria Darrisaw.

Geico promotes several

Dawn Brinson has been selected as a Geico emergency roadside service training specialist. Brinson joined the team in 2009 as an emergency road service representative.

Channing Nguyen, Joy Pitts, Michelle Ralston and Brian Shain have all been promoted to Macon Geico claims supervisors. Nguyen started his career in 2011 as a claims service representative.

Pitts began her career as a liability claims representative in the Fredericksburg, Virginia, office. Ralston began her career in the Lakeland, Florida, office in 2010. Shain started his career in the management development program in the claims department in 2014. All of them have worked through all levels of claims most recently completing the supervisor preparation program.

American Pride Bank announces promotions

American Pride Bank announced the promotions of Pam Deese and Rolando Dixon. Deese was promoted to deposit operations manager and Dixon was promoted to customer service manager of the Forsyth Road branch.

Deese joined the bank in 2014 as a customer service manager. She has over 39 years in banking with the majority of her experience in deposit operations. Dixon joined the bank in 2015 as a personal banker and utility support specialist. He has 10 years of experience in various branch positions

Dublin Career Center earns award

The Georgia Department of Labor’s Career Center Customer Service Award was presented to the Dublin Career Center. The award recognizes outstanding customer service among all GDOL career centers in the Eastern part of the state.

During the past year, the Dublin Career Center has experienced a large growth of new and expanding industries in its community. Also, the center’s collaboration with local workforce partners and the GDOL’s Business Services Unit has made it more successful in providing area employers with quality applicants.
