Macon-based ASP expands into California

Macon-based America’s Swimming Pool Co. continues its nationwide expansion by opening swimming pool maintenance and repair offices in Califonia.

It is the biggest milestone for ASP since its inception, said founder and CEO Stewart Vernon.

In April, new franchise owners from two locations in California, and one each in Texas and North Carolina came to the ASP pool school for a 12-day, hands-on franchise training program to help the new owners start their business.

Geico promotes two employees in Macon office

Shanna Stone has been promoted to a Geico Southeast telephone claims representative I supervisor. Stone began her career in 2002 as an emergency roadside service dispatcher and was promoted to claims in 2007. Stone graduated from Middle Georgia State University in 2005 with an associates degree in education and is currently pursuing her business degree from Wesleyan College. She achieved Yellow Belt certification and is working on completing her final claims law designation.

Amanda Thomas also has been promoted to a Southeast telephone claims representative I supervisor. Thomas joined the team as a claims representative in 2002 and worked through all levels of claims. She completed the Geico claims supervisor preparation program and most recently worked as a Southeast claims transition supervisor. She is currently pursuing her degree in business at Middle Georgia State University.
