Association of Black Cardiologists announces new chairman
The Association of Black Cardiologists, an inclusive organization dedicated to eliminating disparities in cardiovascular diseases, has elected Macon’s Felix Sogade as chairman of the board of directors. New officers were inducted last month during the American College of Cardiology’s scientific sessions in Chicago.
Sogade has provided electrophysiology services to the Middle Georgia area for more than 19 years. He currently serves as the CEO/president for the Georgia Arrhythmia Consultants and Research Institute. In addition, he is an associate professor of medicine at Mercer University.
Clean Control earns EPA award
Clean Control Corp., a chemical manufacturing company in Warner Robins, has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a 2016 EPA Safer Choice Partner of the Year.
EPA’s Safer Choice Program helps consumers and businesses choose products that are safer for families, pets, communities and the environment and helps businesses identify products that go beyond minimum safety standards.
Robins Financial Credit Union announces manager, employees of quarter
Each quarter, Robins Financial Credit Union selects three employees who represent the best of the best in the categories of manager, support department staff and branch staff. The winners chosen for the first quarter of 2016 are Monica Johnson, consumer lending department; Sharell Ross, card services department; and Josh Maddox, Perry branch.
Johnson is the assistant manager of Robins Financial’s consumer lending department. She has been employed at Robins for 23 years. Ross is the dispute specialist. She has been employed with Robins Financial for 12 years and has previously worked in a branch and call center. Maddox is a member service representative and has been employed with Robins Financial for two years.
Dublin VA welcomes new head nurse
The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin has named Connie Hampton as its new associate director for patient care services.
Hampton, a nurse for more than 20 years, worked most recently in executive management at the Atlanta VA and brings a variety of advanced nursing and management skills. In her new position, she will serve as a key member of the Dublin VA’s executive management team, providing leadership and expert knowledge for the nursing division at the medical center and five community-based outpatient clinics.
Hampton began her career at the Birmingham VA Medical Center in 1995 and served in multiple roles including staff nurse, charge nurse, nurse manager and as an associate nursing executive.
Roberta Health and Rehab recognized with award
Roberta Health and Rehab, a member of the Mission Health family of healthcare communities, has received the Mission Health Cares Award for Service.
The Mission Health Cares Award for Service represents the way Roberta Health and Rehab employees provide outstanding service to their residents and the ways that fellow team members follow through on their commitment of taking pride in their community by keeping it safe and clean.
