Renovations begin for new health clinic in west Macon

A health clinic is coming to the Bellevue neighborhood in west Macon.

The Curtis Raines Sr. Foundation broke ground Saturday on renovations for its new, low-cost health care clinic at 3468 Napier Ave., according to a news release. The foundation was created in February 2015 to continue the work of a well-known Macon pastor, the late Rev. Curtis Raines Sr.

“The new clinic will allow us to provide convenient and low-cost health care access close to home,” foundation president, Curtis Raines Jr. said in the release. “We plan to use this space to offer health screenings, dental work, immunizations, back-to-school checkups and more.”

The new clinic building was formerly the Bel Arbor nursing home. The foundation plans to complete renovations and officially open the new clinic to the public in January 2017.
