Job readiness and recruitment event coming to Warner Robins

People who need to prepare for a new job and want to talk to potential employers will have an opportunity this week.

The Middle Georgia Job Readiness and Recruitment Event in Warner Robins will provide employment opportunities in the manufacturing and logistics industries.

The event will be held 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday in Building G at Central Georgia Technical College, 80 Cohen Walker Drive.

Job seekers attending the event are urged to participate in two 45-minute job readiness workshops on resume writing and job interviewing before talking with employers. While attendees are not required to attend a job readiness session, the sponsors are providing the workshops to help job seekers make a more favorable impression when talking with potential employers.

Job seekers will be able to develop and print resumes and have them reviewed by experts. Job seekers bringing their own resumes to the event also may have them reviewed before they meet with employers.

Information will be available about on-the-job training, the federal Trade Adjustment Assistance program and various apprenticeship programs. A list of participating employers is available online at www.dol.georgia.gov.

Attendees should dress in business casual attire and bring a pen or pencil and paper. For more information about the event, email swat@gdol.ga.gov.

The event is co-sponsored by the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s workforce division, Middle Georgia Consortium Inc., Middle Georgia Regional Commission and the Georgia Department of Labor.
