Geico in Macon announces it has written its 14 millionth policy
Geico insurance has broken a record for the second time this year.
The company announced Thursday from its offices on Ocmulgee East Boulevard in Macon that it has written its 14 millionth policy, according to a news release. The record was achieved when a Tennessee man purchased a policy for his new car the day before Valentine's Day.
The company also broke a record with its 2015 United Way contribution and an appreciate event also was held at Geico.
As reported by The Telegraph in March, the company raised more than $1.1 million for United Way of Central Georgia. The company and its employees were named United Way's top contributor for the 12th year in a row. Geico employees raised $900,005 and the company's corporate gift was $201,190.
It's the largest company campaign in Middle Georgia to top the $1.1 million mark.
Geico was founded in 1936 and insures more than 23 million vehicles.
