Perry Lions Club seeks volunteers to help clean up downtown Perry

Volunteers are being sought to help with a litter cleanup day in downtown Perry.

The Perry Lions Club, who is partnering with Boy Scout Troop 96 and the Perry Main Street program, is hosting the cleanup day 8 a.m.-noon, April 23, according to a news release.

The club plans to pick up litter along Gen. Courtney Hodges Boulevard. Depending on the turnout, volunteers would tackle trash on other streets, such as Ball Street.

Lions encourage other civic groups, youth groups and other members of the public to assist with the cleanup as a community service project.
