Family owned B & V Printing Concepts in Perry caters to local businesses, individuals
Mary Jane Virden, co-owner of B & V Printing Concepts Inc. with her husband Freddy Virden. 345 Courtney Hodges Blvd., Perry, 987-4644. Hours: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
How long have you been in business?: "We have been in business since August 1992. I used to work for my cousin (Danny Evans). He had Evans Publishing Co. and he had the newspaper here in town. ... He had the printing business, but he wanted to get out of it so we purchased it from him."
Freddy Virden was a farmer, but farming "was doing bad so he started working at the newspaper also, in the press room. So that's how we got into it."
What do you like best about your job?: "Just being able to provide what the public needs, no matter if it's big or small."
What is your specialty?: "It's basically business cards, letterhead, envelopes, flyers, brochures, menus and then we offer fax services and copy services, black and white or color. Customers can provide their own paper stock if they want. But we don't do any full-color printing."
Customers are mainly local businesses and individuals. If customers have an idea of the type of graphic they want, B & V has an employee who can usually set it up.
"A lot people go online and do their invitations, and then we print it for them. We can do small jobs, 10 or 15 and up."
What are your future plans?: The owners don't have any specific plans at this time.
