Rezoning approved for residential development on Raley Road in Bibb County
A rezoning application was approved Monday which would allow a residential development with 27 homes on Raley Road, off Eisenhower Parkway and Interstate 475.
The Macon-Bibb County Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously agreed to rezone nearly 4 acres at 4773 Raley Road from an agricultural district to a single-family residential district to allow a detached residential cluster development.
The commission also approved a conditional-use permit to allow the development along with a revision to a previously approved site plan.
The 4-acre parcel would be added to an adjacent 11-acre site at 4719 Raley Road, which was rezoned to a residential district in 2015.
The gated cluster development would include 27 single-family homes that would be about 2,200-3,000 square feet in size. Amenities would include a 5,400-square-foot clubhouse, swimming pool, playground and a 1-acre nature trail, park and storm-water detention pond.
The proposed rezoning is not inconsistent with the 2040 Future Land Use Plan and appears to be a logical extension of the residential zoning of adjacent land, according to the commission's staff report.
