Downtown Macon restaurant holding two parties in one this weekend

A downtown Macon restaurant is holding two parties in one this weekend.

The newly relocated Bearfoot Tavern, a gastropub with beer garden, will hold a grand opening Super Bowl party. The business, at 467 Second St., will open at 11 a.m. and have giveaways and prizes, said owner Cesare Mammarella. The beer garden will be open all day, with an 8-by-6 foot high-definition TV screen showing the game.

The Bearfoot will have "essentially a new menu" and lots of choices at the bar, including 50 draft beers. About two dozen of those will be from Georgia breweries, he said.

In August, Mammarella told The Telegraph he planned to move the restaurant from Cherry Street to the Second Street location.

While the new space is not "considerably larger," Mammarella said it would have a much larger bar.
