Downtown Macon restaurant holds two parties in one this weekend
A downtown Macon restaurant is holding two parties in one this weekend.
The newly relocated Bearfoot Tavern, a Grastopub with beer garden, will hold a grand opening super bowl party. The business will open 11 a.m. at 467 Second St. and will have giveaways and prizes, said owner Cesare Mammarella. The beer garden will be open all day which features an 8-foot by 6-foot high definition TV screen showing the game.
The Bearfoot will have "essentially a new menu" and lots of choices at the bar including 50 draft beers and 20-25 of those will be from Georgia breweries, he said. Also, it will have about 25-30 craft beers in the bottle.
Last August, Mammarella told The Telegraph he planned to move the restaurant from Cherry Street to the Second Street location.
While the new space is not "considerably larger" Mammarella said it would have a much larger bar.
Mammarella owns the HotPlates Restaurant Group, which includes the Bearfoot Tavern and Grastopub, Tic Toc Room, Ginger Stir-Fry & Grill, Brasserie Circa, Yabu Sushi and Emerson Ballroom, all in Macon.
