Advanced Disposal, Macon-Bibb's trash removal company, to become a public company

Advanced Disposal -- the Florida-based company that recently took over garbage pickup in Macon-Bibb County -- is set to become a public company.

The company announced this week the launch of its initial public offering of more than 21.4 million shares of common stock, according to a news release.

The common stock for Ponte Vedra, Florida-based Advance Disposal has been approved for listing on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol ADSW.

The company intends to use the net proceeds from the shares offered by it to repay outstanding loans.
