Downtown Macon florist completes interior remodeling

It was time for a fresh, updated look at Lawrence Mayer Florist in downtown Macon so the owner started remodeling in July.

The work is now complete, owner Jon Mayer said.

"We started remodeling the inside of the store and changing our workroom, making it so the customers who walk in the door can actually see the designers designing," he said.

A new cooler has been added by the front door, so when customers walk in "they can see all the flowers we've got. ... So everything is kind of in one spot."

Also a new wedding consulting area was created.

"We've got more to show brides when they come in and a nicer area for them to sit," he said. About a year ago, the company added a new manager and wedding consultant.

"We've changed things for the better," he said. "We're here to stay."

The florist has been in business since 1948.
