What's open, what's not for New Year's

Banks: Bank of America, BB&T, Capital City Bank, CB&T Bank of Middle Georgia, Colony Bank, OneSouth Bank, Renasant Bank, State Bank and Trust, SunTrust Bank and Wells Fargo will be closed Friday. American Pride Bank and Community & Southern Bank (formerly CertusBank) will close at 2 p.m. Thursday and will be closed Friday. MidSouth Community Federal Credit Union and Robins Federal Credit Union will close at 1 p.m. Thursday and will be closed Friday. SunMark Community Bank will close at 2 p.m. Thursday and will be closed Friday; however its office in Hawkinsville and on Houston Lake Road in Warner Robins will be open until noon Saturday.

Government offices: Offices for the cities of Byron, Centerville, Forsyth, Fort Valley, Gray, Jeffersonville, Perry and Warner Robins as well as offices for Crawford, Jones, Peach and Twiggs counties will be closed Friday. Offices for Warner Robins and for Houston and Macon-Bibb counties will be closed Thursday and Friday. Monroe County offices will close at noon Thursday and will be closed Friday. The Division of Family and Children Services and the Labor Department will be closed Friday. State courts will be closed Thursday and Friday, and federal courts will be closed Friday.

Mail delivery: No delivery Friday.

Garbage: Garbage routes in the cities of Centerville and Fort Valley are not affected. Garbage routes in the cities of Byron, Perry and Warner Robins as well as in Crawford, Houston and Peach counties will not run Friday and will be delayed by a day through Saturday. Garbage routes by the Macon-Bibb County Solid Waste Department will run as scheduled this week. Garbage routes in Macon-Bibb County served by Advanced Disposal Services will not run Friday but will run Saturday. Macon-Bibb residents may go online at http://bibbgis.co.bibb.ga.us/mbmgs/ to determine who collects their garbage.

Libraries: The libraries in Peach County will be closed Thursday and Friday, and the libraries in Houston County will be closed Friday. The Middle Georgia Regional Library and branches will be closed Friday through Sunday, and Washington Memorial Library will close at 6 p.m. Thursday.
