Perry Hospital earns recognition from Joint Commission

Perry Hospital has been recently recognized as a 2014 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the U.S.

Perry Hospital was recognized as part of the 2015 annual report, America's Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety, for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for pneumonia, surgical care and immunizations. Perry Hospital is one of 1,043 hospitals out of more than 3,300 eligible hospitals to achieve the distinction. This is the third year the hospital has been recognized as a Top Performer.

Krystal Employee receives Perry Proud Award

Perry Krystal employee Danielle Ridley was recently presented with the Perry Proud Award for providing outstanding customer service to Perry area visitors and residents.

Ridley was nominated for the award by Perry resident Becky Powell.

The Perry Proud Award is presented quarterly to an outstanding front-line employee in the local Perry hospitality industry who goes above and beyond to provide excellent customer service to Perry visitors and residents. These employees represent their employers and the city of Perry as ambassadors of outstanding service and Southern hospitality.

Middle Georgia hospitals listed as Georgia Trend's top hospitals

Several Middle Georgia hospitals have been listed on Georgia Trend magazine's 2015 Top Hospital List.

The Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins was ranked No. 2 in the top teaching hospitals list behind Emory University Hospital Midtown in Atlanta. For the top medium-sized hospitals, Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin ranked No. 4, Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville was No. 12 and Coliseum Medical Centers in Macon was listed No. 17. The top small hospitals included Perry Hospital at No. 4, Dodge County Hospital in Eastman at No. 6, Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawksinville at No. 7 and Coliseum Northside Hospital No. 8.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan recognizes Gregory of YKK

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan recognized some individuals recently with the Foreign Minister's Commendations in Honor of the 70th Anniversary of the End of the War with the United States of America for outstanding achievements in promoting friendship between Japan and the U.S.

The honorees included Alex Gregory, chairman, president and CEO of YKK Corporation of America in Macon. He is a pioneer in achieving executive posts in a Japanese company operating in Georgia. Gregory is a long-standing leader in promoting Japan-U.S. relations by serving as a cross-cultural bridge between the two nations and bringing the business communities closer.

The commendations were presented to 28 individuals and 14 groups in the U.S.

Macon law firm adds three attorneys

Martin Snow LLP announces three new attorneys at its firm.

Jonathan Moore has joined the firm's real estate section in an "of counsel" position. Moore has been licensed to practice law since 2005 and brings more than 10 years of experience to the firm's real estate team.

Catherine O'Brien is joining the firm's real estate section as an associate. O'Brien received her juris doctor from the University of Georgia school of law. During law school, she served as president of the Health Law Society and president of the Environmental Law Association.

Taylor Martin is joining the firm's litigation section as an associate. His practice includes the defense of medical malpractice lawsuits, automobile and premises liability actions and other personal injury and wrongful death tort litigation.

United Way president in Macon selected for national leadership role

George McCanless, president and CEO of United Way of Central Georgia, has been appointed to the National Professional Council of United Ways, a select group of chief executive officers from across the country that focuses on identifying common challenges and solutions for the community-based member nonprofits.

McCanless became president and CEO of United Way in January 2013 after a career in the newspaper industry, the past five years serving as president and publisher of The Telegraph. McCanless will serve a two-year term from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2017.
