Perry salon owner receives grant to help her business

A downtown Perry shop owner received a grant Friday that will help her business.

Mia's Skincare Salon received a $250 grant to purchase a steamer used for cleaning skin and activating facial masks and peels, according to a news release from Main Street Coordinator Catherine Edgemon.

The grant came from Boost Downtown Perry, an investment group that provides funds to entrepreneurs and owners of small businesses in the downtown development district. Investors donate $100 twice a year to fund the program.

Applicants for grants must apply for funds to purchase supplies, business equipment, marketing and advertising, renovations, a security system or eligible professional services.
