Industrial Authority officially opens new downtown Macon office
The Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority officially opened its new office Wednesday.
In July, the authority bought the former Mauldin & Jenkins building at 439 Mulberry St. for $625,000. The two-story building has more than 11,000 square feet of space.
The authority moved from the Greater Macon of Chamber of Commerce building into the new location last month.
The authority is furnishing five spaces in the building as part of its partnership with Mercer Innovation Center on the university's campus. Plans for the center were announced Tuesday. The center will encourage and develop entrepreneurs to help promote economic development as well as attract and retain talented individuals.
