Warren elected head of Cessna group
Macon attorney Virgil Warren was elected president of the International Cessna 120-140 Association during the group's national fly-in and convention recently. As president, Warren will oversee the day-to-day operations of the association. He will also be responsible for the coordination of legislative support for general aviation interests in Washington. The International Cessna 120-140 Association comprises more than 1,100 members in the U.S. and abroad. The membership is made up of aircraft owners, pilots and general aviation enthusiasts and is charged with the maintenance, restoration and operation of the Cessna 120, Cessna 140 and Cessna 140A type aircraft produced from 1946-50.
Moonhanger hires four new execs
Moonhanger Group, based in Macon, has hired four new people for its management team.
Tess Harper is the new director of communications for the Moonhanger Group. She is a graduate of Mercer University with a degree in journalism and media studies and has previously worked in marketing and communications at the Georgia Department of Education's school nutrition office in Atlanta as well as for the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce.
Danielle Sudderth is the new director of marketing for Cox Capitol Theatre. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 2012 and worked her way into the music industry in Athens while working for Georgia Theatre and Nimbleslick Entertainment.
Hubble Beasley was hired as the new general manager at Cox Capitol Theatre. Beasley previously served as manager of the Green Room and with Georgia Theatre in Athens.
Katelin Yates is the new director of sales and catering for the Moonhanger Group. She previously served as the vice president of national sales for a boutique health benefits firm based in Memphis.
Rogers elected to ACEP board
Macon resident John Rogers will serve as vice president of the board of directors for the American College of Emergency Physicians. Board officers are elected to serve one-year terms.
Rogers serves as Coliseum Northside Hospital's Co-ED Medical Director and is the immediate past president of the medical staff. He is a delegate to the Medical Association of Georgia representing the Bibb County Medical Society.
MGSU foundation presents awards
Middle Georgia State Foundation presented Legacy of Leadership and Outstanding Alumnus Awards recently.
Robert Hatcher Sr. is the recipient of foundation's Legacy of Leadership award for 2015.
President and CEO of MidCountry Financial Corp., Hatcher has been extensively involved in numerous civic organizations and initiatives. The award recognizes an individual, persons or group who has given exemplary service to the university and the foundation.
Emory Lee Gordy Jr. is the recipient of the 2015 Outstanding Alumnus Award. A 1964 graduate of the former Middle Georgia College, Gordy went on to become an influential figure in the music industry as a studio and touring bass player as well as a producer.
Among the many artists he has worked with are Elvis Presley, Emmylou Harris, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, John Denver and his wife, Patty Loveless. He was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 1992
The Middle Georgia State Foundation established the Outstanding Alumnus Award to recognize graduates who have distinguished themselves academically, professionally or through community involvement and achieved positions of influence and regional or national reputation.
