Employer business summit to be held in Macon

Middle Georgia employers will have an opportunity this month to learn about new and changing business regulations.

An employer business summit and networking event called Employers in the Know will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 17 in Building 1 at Central Georgia Technical College, 3300 Macon Tech Drive in Macon, according to a news release. It is sponsored by the Middle Georgia Employer Committee and the Georgia Department of Labor.

Employers are encouraged to pre-register by Sept. 10 but may register at the event. The cost -- which includes lunch -- is $35 a person for those who pre-register. If more than one person from an organization attends, the cost is $30 each. The cost at the door is $40 a person.

Luncheon speaker Felicia Smith with the Georgia Department of Revenue will conduct a small workshop about steps businesses may take to ensure compliance with that department.
