Sticky Fingers closes Macon restaurant

Sticky Fingers Smokehouse has closed its only restaurant in Middle Georgia.

The restaurant opened in July 2008 at 5080 Riverside Drive in an outparcel at The Shoppes at River Crossing. It was known for hickory-smoked ribs, wings and barbecue pork.

The company-owned restaurant closed Sunday, Sticky Fingers CEO John Walker said in an email.

“The location had been underperforming for the past two years, and the company has been working with the landlord on an early lease termination for over a year,” Walker said. “All employees will be paid their final wages, and all trade vendors will be paid as well. At present the company has no plans to reopen in the Macon market.”

The only other restaurant in Georgia is in Savannah, according to the company’s website.
