Faces and places: Navicent Health’s cancer program receives national award

The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons has given its 2014 Outstanding Achievement Award to a 75 accredited cancer programs throughout the United States. Medical Center, Navicent Health is one of the programs recognized and is one of only 25 programs to achieve the award for a second consecutive survey period.

Award criteria were based on qualitative and quantitative surveys conducted last year. The purpose of the award is to raise the bar on quality cancer care, with the ultimate goal of increasing awareness about quality care choices among cancer patients.

Coldwell Banker associates earn awards

Stephanie Folsom of Coldwell Banker Commercial Eberhardt & Barry Inc. of Macon has earned a spot in the company’s Bronze Level Circle of Distinction based on transaction revenue for 2014. The Circle of Distinction is an honor bestowed upon the top ranking producers among Coldwell Banker Commercial professionals.

Art Barry III, associate broker/partner of Coldwell Banker Commercial has been recognized as one of the company’s 2014 Top Two, a designation that is reserved for the top 2 percent of producers from among the almost 2,800 Coldwell Banker Commercial sales professionals worldwide. Additionally, Barry has earned a spot in the company’s Gold Level Circle of Distinction.

Barry will join the other Top Two recipients in the British Virgin Islands this summer to receive the award.

Third Wave names Hart account executive

Third Wave Advertising, an advertising agency and Internet marketing firm in Macon, has named Mindy Hart as account executive of the firm’s local ad sales and Gateway Macon.com online leisure guide advertising.

Hart will be responsible for sales and marketing that will help identify Gateway Macon’s new client opportunities while also maintaining Gateway Macon’s existing client relationships. She is a native of Macon and was recently named one of Georgia Trend Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Georgians.

GEC adds new staff members

Brandon Hill, a graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, has joined Geotechnical & Environmental Consultants Inc. of Macon as an environmental specialist. Hill most recently worked as an environmental specialist with the Alabama Department of Environmental Management in Montgomery, Alabama.

Victoria Kerry is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in crop and soil science, specializing in agriscience and environmental systems. Kerry is joining GEC as an environmental specialist.

Brady Bennett has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Georgia Southwestern University and a master’s degree in biology from Georgia College. Bennett has a variety of work experience including working as a biological technician, graduate teaching assistant and laboratory technician. He recently completed a project monitoring the black bear population in Middle Georgia for the Department of Natural Resources. He is joining the GEC team as an environmental specialist and will be working mainly in wetlands consultation.

Amber Hughes has a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and technology from Savannah State University, where she served as treasurer of the Environmental Science Club. Hughes is experienced as an inorganic chemistry analyst and has performed analytical testing. She also is joining GEC as an environmental specialist.
