Pier 1 Imports opens at River Crossing in north Bibb County

Pier 1 Imports has opened its store at The Shoppes at River Crossing in north Bibb County a little earlier than expected.

The store opened Tuesday at 5080 Riverside Drive, according to a news release.

Customers through Thursday will receive a free reusable bag and “an iconic Pier 1 Imports backscratcher” during the celebration of the store opening, the release stated.

The Telegraph reported in November that Pier 1, which has been in Macon for more than 25 years, would be moving across town this summer.

The Texas-based company, which offers home decor, furniture and gifts, has already closed its store at 2101 Eisenhower Parkway.
