Butler Automotive Group expects to begin construction in January on a new Nissan dealership, next to its Lexus dealership in north Bibb County.
It will replace the company’s Nissan dealership on Eisenhower Parkway, said Morris Butler, with Butler Automotive Group. Butler Automotive Group also will build a new collision center on adjacent property.
The Macon-Bibb County Planning & Zoning Commission approved Monday a conditional-use permit to allow the car sales center and body shop on about 18 acres at 4500 Riverside Drive.
The Nissan dealership building will include a sales showroom and service area totaling about 35,000 square feet, according a report prepared by the company for the commission. Parking will be available for about 470 vehicles on the 11-acre tract.
