Good to Go in Macon to relaunch with new menu, new name
Saralyn Collins has renovated her Good To Go restaurant and plans to relaunch the business Monday with a new look, a new menu and a new name.
Collins said she has been offering farm to table meals from her catering business for the past few years and had such a great response, “that’s where I wanted to go as a chef,” she said.
Beginning Monday, the revamped menu -- which will change every week -- will include all fresh ingredients and as much locally grown or locally raised food as possible.
“My goal is to be able to offer this kind of food to people at reasonable prices, not at a fine-dining price point,” she said. “There are a lot of people in the home-cooking business in Macon, and they are all awesome. I felt like this was our turn ... to do what I genuinely, truly love to do more than anything, which is to use fresh ingredients.”
The new name of the eatery at 1019 Riverside Drive will be Grow, “because we felt like it symbolized us, the company and me as a chef and the direction we wanted to take the business,” Collins said.
Grow’s primary meat source will be Greenway Farms of Georgia in Roberta. The eatery’s sandwich and salad line has been expanded, and every sandwich comes with homemade pickles.
Everyone who eats in the dining room next week will get a basket of house-fried chips with a black-eyed pea, corn and jalapeno salsa, “but we are going to change what that is every week.”
Hours will remain 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday, and options will be available for special events and parties.
