Chances to shadow pros, scholarships: New car dealership owners want to help Macon youth
A Macon car dealership is set to celebrate a new beginning in a big way.
On Saturday, Grand Infiniti of Macon will celebrate its new ownership with a grand re-opening that will include the Bibb County School District and Macon Chamber of Commerce.
The new owners took over in June and are now ready to celebrate with the community, according to Chris Williams, Grand Infiniti of Macon’s general manager.
Williams said the company is working on scholarship opportunities for students. He said the company will also be allowing students who are interested in careers in the auto industry - whether it’s as a technician, sales, or even as a general manager - to come and shadow employees.
“We believe it takes a village of support for kids to be successful,” Williams said. “We want to be a part of that village and set a trend that encourages other businesses to join in.”
Williams emphasized the importance of both the Bibb County School District and Macon Chamber of Commerce saying they are staples in the community. He said the company wouldn’t attempt to do anything without including the two historic organizations who are boots to the ground and working to make change.
Williams said the grand re-opening will be a celebration of new ownership and a new beginning.
“We are a family owned business where the owner’s primary concern is improving the community they do business in,” he said. “We love people, we love our guests, we love this community, and we love our employees. We are excited to be here and be integrated in the community.”
The grand re-opening is set for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will include live radio, food truck, games, and more.
Grand Infiniti of Macon is at 4763 Riverside Dr. and can be reached at 478-202-8464.
