Middle Georgia performers give kids up-close experiences with their favorite characters
A Middle Georgia business is putting performers behind the costumes of children’s favorite characters, allowing kids in Macon and elsewhere to meet their favorites.
Dream A Little Wish Entertainment, LLC, started in September 2020, brings to life a wide variety of characters for performance entertainment and larger-than-life fun.
“Our business is here to make your day magical and truly immerse you into the world of fairy tales. From our dazzling costumes, outstanding performers and true-to-character voices, our performers will truly make you believe in the magic,” said Co-Owner Tyler Yeomans. “All of our character performers are trained to become their said character from their voice to our top of line costuming.”
He said that the company’s “fairy-godmother,” Stacey Callis, plays a big part in costumes and wig styling.
Yeomans said he got hooked on charter performances in 2015 when he made hospital visits in costume, and he knew he wanted to carry on in the business. He said Dream A Little Wish offers a wide range of characters from superheroes to princesses, and a few mascots.
The business takes its time to make every interaction that people have with the characters a very personal experience, according to Yeomans. He said the business makes it a point to get to know every child and family so it can help create unforgettable moments that make a big difference.
Yeomans shared that although the performers have worked several events and parties, there is one performance that will always stay with them.
“We were contacted by a mom with a child with cancer - she requested a home visit from our Snow Queen and Snow Princesses. We brought two of our best performers and performed an entire concert right there on their lawn,” he said. “We didn’t record or take photos out of respect for the family but it was a magical and special moment for the five that got to witness the true reason we do what we do.”
Dream A Little Wish also has contracts with businesses such as top client Peachy Playtown, where they perform monthly, and Macon Giggles & Wiggles.
The company’s first contract was with the city of Perry. Yeomans said the city has supported and cast the company since it opened. He said Dream A Little Wish provides performers for all the city’s events and performs on stage during its big festivals, such as the International Festival, Fall Film Series and more.
The business is gearing up for Perry’s International Festival in September.
Dream A Little Wish serves much of Middle Georgia, including Macon, Forsyth, Perry, Bonaire, Kathleen, Byron, Warner Robins and Centerville.
“We thrive on creating magical moments and we strive to provide quality entertainment to all walks of life,” Yeomans said.
