Macon family business since 1984 is going out of business. Plans to sell building

A family owned business since 1984 will soon be closing its doors: Moore’s Furniture in Macon is going out of business.

The long-time furniture business currently has a giant yellow sign in front announcing the closure.

The store, located on Riverside Drive was founded in 1984 by Mildred Moore. Moore’s daughter Mimi Schilling took over the business and is the current owner, according to a Business Training News article.

The article stated the Schillings plan to sell the Moore’s Furniture building and the new owner plans to open a furniture store under a different name.

The store is three stories and stocks everything from bedroom sets to lounge chairs.

Moore’s Furniture is at 2950 Riverside Drive. As of June 6, everything was up to 70% off.
