Dick’s Sporting Goods opens warehouse outlet on Presidential Parkway in west Macon

Inside the shell of what was once an actual Dick’s Sporting Goods, you can now browse a department store-size bargain bin of workout garb, golf attire and occasional castoff athletic-wear oddities for far-away teams, some of which will likely never be sold locally.

The cut-rate clothing — along with a small assortment of balls, sports gear and paraphernalia — can be found at an outlet-like business that, according to the sign out front, is a Dick’s Warehouse Sale.

Store employees said the store, which opened recently, is a permanent entity housed in the former Dick’s at 4645 Presidential Parkway in west Macon’s Eisenhower Crossing shopping center. The original store closed in 2014.

Among the rows and rows of cut-rate, discount sporting clothes — everything from running shorts to polos and shoes — there are a handful of curiosities on the beyond-bargain racks.

Anyone want a Garrett Wilson Ohio State T-shirt jersey?

Or a No. 10 New England Patriots T-shirt jersey bearing the last name of maligned quarterback Mac Jones?

Or a Texas Rangers tank top?

Or a Kyler Murray Arizona Cardinals jersey?

Or a gaudy Miami Dolphins jacket?

There are some Atlanta Braves items. Just don’t count on finding a Ronald Acuña Jr. jersey anytime soon.
