Insomnia Cookies has come to Macon. Here’s when the late-night bakery will open
A popular, late-night bakery announced its grand opening date for its first Macon location.
Insomnia Cookies will host a grand opening celebration Saturday, Nov. 4, during which customers will receive one free classic cookie in the store. Customers who choose delivery will also receive one free classic cookie with their purchase, but there is a minimum purchase requirement, according to the news release.
The new store, at 1530 Mercer University Drive, will stay open until 3 a.m. on the weekends and 1 a.m. during week days. It is the eighth Insomnia Cookies in Georgia, and the brand has more than 250 locations nationwide.
Because the store will stay open until 3 a.m., it will be open later than bars and clubs in Macon. Macon-Bibb County bars are required to close their doors at 2 a.m. after the commission approved the change in September.
The grand opening festivities include giveaways, a prize wheel and milk pong. The first 50 customers at noon on Saturday will receive a free six-pack of assorted classic cookies. Insomnia Cookies will donate 15% of their sales to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Heart of Georgia on opening day, as well.
The new bakery will sell everything from their classic chocolate chunk cookie to ice cream to brownies as well as have several vegan options.
Customers will have in-store, pickup and delivery options to Mercer University and the surrounding Macon neighborhoods, according to the release.
