Who will win best burger bragging rights? Macon Burger Week kicks off across the city

More than 20 restaurants across the city are participating in Macon Burger Week this week for a chance to be crowned the People’s Choice Champion.

That means diners will have the opportunity to enjoy some of the most creative burgers in town for only $10 a burger in the contest presented by the Georgia Beef Board.

In addition to best burger bragging rights, participating restaurants are competing for two other awards.

The Cleverly Created Award will be awarded to the restaurant with the most creative and unique entry and the Most Beef Sales Award will go to the restaurant that sells the most beef by the pound.

In the 2021 contest, Macon Beer Company captured its second straight Macon Burger Week title with its High on the Hog burger.

The popularity of the 2018 contest winner, the Juliette from Ocmulgee Brewpub, led to its placement on the restaurant’s regular menu.

For diners

Diners coming out for Burger Week can download a passport from the Georgia Beef Board’s website that can be stamped at each restaurant when the $10 burger is ordered.

At the end of Burger Week, send in your stamped passport to the Georgia Beef Board for a chance to win some prizes at PO Box 28230, Macon, GA 31221.

The Georgia Beef Board also asks diners to remember that even though the price for the specialty burgers in the contest has increased, each burger is still a great deal for $10.

Additionally, the board asks that diners support the participating Macon restaurants by ordering some sides, drinks, tipping well and by being patient in case restaurants get slammed.

Participating restaurants include Amici, Bearfoot Tavern, Buffalo’s Cafe, Cashman’s Pub, Dua Fish Tank, Fall Line Brewing Co., Felicia’s Cake Factory, Glory Days Grill, Grey Goose Players Club, Just Tap’d, Kinjo Kitchen + Cocktails, Ocmulgee Brewpub, Macon Beer Company, Satterfield’s Barbecue, The Brick, Library Kitchen & Taphouse, The Rookery, Tommy’s, Yollah, VIBEZ, Oh Honey Baking Co., Maries Lounge Mid-Town Daiquiri Bar & Grill, La Bella Morelia and Northside Cheers.

Voting opens Wednesday. Burger Week runs through Sunday.
