Fine dining to chargrilled burgers: Here are 7 new dining spots in Macon, Warner Robins

From two casual fine dining restaurants to a chargrilled burger joint, multiple new dining options are available in Macon, Perry and Warner Robins.

New options include a bakery, an Italian restaurant, a European-style bistro, a popular burger spot and more. Most opened recently this month with one still under a soft opening. Two opened in late May.

Oh Honey Baking Co. —Grab a honey bee latte and a bacon, egg and cheese on a ciabatta roll to go or relax over breakfast in the comfortable, cozy cafe of this new bakery in Ingleside Village at 2391 Ingleside Ave. next to The Society Garden. The honey bee latte is made with honey, brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Owner and baker Adriana Horton also serves up sandwiches and charcuterie along with a variety of baked goods such as doughnuts, macarons, cup cakes, brownies, cinnamon buns and more in her storefront. She also offers custom-made wedding cakes as well as her baked goods and charcuterie for pre-order online. Storefront hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Pearl Passionate Cuisine and Cocktails — Escape from the cares of the day and enjoy shrimp scampi with a Sicilian fennel and orange salad and a signature cocktail for dinner at this casual fine dining restaurant 470 First St. across from Hotel Forty Five in downtown Macon. Owners Ashley and Tony Doolin invite guests to step into their seaside-vacation-retreat themed restaurant that also serves up sandwiches like a guava with bacon and prosciutto on sourdough and a soup of the day such as a cold cantaloupe and English cucumber gazpacho for lunch. The bistro is open from Tuesday through Saturday. The first seating for lunch is at 11 a.m. and the last seating at 2:15 p.m. The restaurant closes at 3 p.m. to prepare for the dinner service, with first seating for dinner at 5 p.m. and the last seating at 9:15 p.m. with closing at 10 p.m. Reservations are only required for bar seating, but are highly recommended for dining. The Library Taphouse and Kitchen — Choose from 101 drafts ranging from IPAs, sours, ciders, lagers and stouts as well as from appetizers, smash burgers, salads, wings and more at this new restaurant and sports bar at at 1530 Mercer University Drive, Suite 300, near Mercer University. Co-owner Ron Whidby is also the co-owner of the popular Cashman’s Pub at 370 Cherry St. in downtown Macon. Additionally, Cashman’s Executive Chef Reginald Perkins is over The Library. This new spot also boasts 11 large TV screens. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. When Monday night football starts, the Library is expected to also be open on Mondays.

Rock N Roll Sushi — Known for their lively lights, music videos on multiple screens and mix of offerings for the consummate sushi lover and hibachi fans alike, this rock and roll themed restaurant is under a soft opening at 5791 Zebulon Road, Suite D, for dinner only from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Once they have their alcohol license and are fully staffed, they expect to open fully — probably within a couple of weeks. This is the third Rock N Roll Sushi location for Tim and Alisa Prussia, who left their jobs and home in California to move to Warner Robins to open their first location at 794 Ga. 96 in the Bonaire community in September 2020. Their second Rock N Roll Sushi is located at 3010 Watson Blvd. in Warner Robins. Popular dishes include crispy wontons, the crowd surfer roll, the filet hibachi with vegetables and fried rice, and the Hamachi either traditional sashimi or nigiri.

Cook Out — This North Carolina-based restaurant chain known for their handmade, chargrilled hamburgers and seemly endless combination trays of burgers, chicken, barbecue, hot dogs, quesadillas, milkshakes, fries, onion wings and more now has its first location in Perry at 1340 Sam Nunn Blvd. The restaurant offers more than 40 milkshake choices alone.

Fresco Italiano — Offering made from scratch sauces, premium ingredients and grilled 100% Angus beef, this casual fine dining Italian restaurant at 1208 Russell Parkway in Warner Robins is the second location for brother and sister Christian and Monica Torres. The family-owned restaurant has a full-service cocktail bar and a separate wine tasting bar as well as charcuterie and dessert bars. Freshly prepared salads, paninis, pastas, steaks and desserts are available for lunch while dinner options include lobster and shrimp linguine, eggplant parmesan, grilled salmon and 16 ounce ribeye and New York steaks. The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for dinner and Friday and Saturday with similar hours except they are open an hour later for dinner. Reservations are not required but recommended. The number is 478-293-4875. They opened their first Fresco Italiano in Sylvester and later relocated the popular restaurant to Tifton.

Jack’s — Known for its Southern hospitality and fresh buttermilk biscuits made from scratch, this restaurant serves up chicken, burgers, salads and more. A popular spot, vehicles continue to line up and wrap around the drive-thru since Jack’s Family Restaurants opened the new location at 1284 South Houston Lake Road in Warner Robins in late May. The first Jack’s in Middle Georgia at 209 W. Clinton St. in Gray opened its doors about a month earlier. Jack’s and Fresco Italiano join a host of new restaurants that have opened this year or are in the works in Warner Robins.
