Atrium Health Navicent just bumped up its minimum wage to $13.50 for entry-level employees, the third time the healthcare provider has increased the minimum wage since September 2020.

The $1 hourly wage increase goes into effect July 10 and is part of a $2.3 million investment by Atrium Health into teammate compensation, the healthcare provider announced Friday.

The new per hour wage at Atrium Health Navicent is $6.25 more per hour than the federal minimum wage of $7.25. The prior minimum wage at Atrium Health Navicent was $12.50 an hour and before that $10 an hour.

“Our teammates are our most important resource in providing high-quality health care close to home,” Atrium Health Navicent president and CEO Delvecchio Finley said in a news release. “When we invest in recruiting and retaining our workforce, we’re making an investment in the economy and the health and wellness of the communities we serve that will provide benefit for years to come.”

Other Atrium Health Navicent teammates with an hourly pay above $13.50 are also receiving increases “to maintain pay differentiation and minimize pay compression,” the release said.

These new pay rates will be reflected on more than 2,000 teammates’ paychecks July 29.
