Popular Mexican restaurant opens second location in Macon. Its new spot has a drive-thru

Fajitas Mexican Grill now has a second location in Macon.

The restaurant at 6012 Zebulon Road, Suite 101 is in the same spot of the former Margaritas Mexican Grill. It boasts new spices and flavors, while employing the same staff of the former restaurant but under new ownership and management, said co-owner Erika Ramirez.

Ramirez and co-owners Oscar Giorge and Maria Macias are former longtime employees of Margaritas Mexican Grill, Ramirez said. All worked in management and food operations: Ramirez for 11 years and Giorge and Macias for about 20 years each.

Giorge opened the first Fajitas Mexican Grill at 4696 Presidential Parkway in September 2019, which was also a former Margaritas Mexican Grill, Ramirez said.

Giorge also manages the first Fajitas Mexican Grill location, while Ramirez and Macias manage the second location.

For Ramirez and Macias, Fajitas Mexican Grill #2 is the first restaurant they’ve ever owned.

“It’s really a lot of work,” Ramirez said. “But I love it. I enjoy coming here ... I see regulars now. It’s like family.”

The new owners took over in September with the name change officially going into effect in late October/early November, Ramirez said.

The new restaurant has gotten a positive response from customers, she said.

The most popular dish is the House Special, which offers customers a choice of meats and vegetables in a salad, bowl or burrito, Ramirez said.

Hours are from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. The telephone number is 478-477-2410.

The restaurant offers dine-in, take out, has a drive-thru window and utilizes Grubhub and DoorDash delivery services.
