Unemployed due to coronavirus? Geico plans to hire 500 new associates in Macon this year
A major auto insurer in Macon plans to increase its workforce by hiring 500 new associates by the end of 2020.
Geico’s Macon office announced Tuesday job openings in multiple areas. According to a news release, those are:
- Customer Service Representatives
- Sales Representatives
- Claims Service Representatives
- Title Processing Specialists
- Emergency Roadside Service Representatives
- The Management Development Program is also looking for recent college graduates.
“There are more than 7,000 associates in our GEICO family here in Macon, and we are happy to see our family growing as we continue to go above and beyond to serve our customers,” said Regional Vice President Frankie Silva in the release. “We are incredibly proud and fortunate to be able to offer career opportunities at a time when so many people are looking to get back on their feet.”
The job openings include a competitive salary and Geico’s benefits package, which includes medical coverage, paid vacation and tuition reimbursement.

The unemployment rate in Georgia rose to 12.6% in April due to the coronavirus pandemic, which was a major increase from the 3.1% unemployment rate from November 2019-February 2020, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The unemployment rate has since fallen to 7.6% in June.
Geico, the second-largest auto insurer in the U.S., was founded more than 80 years ago and insures more than 28 million vehicles, according to the release.
