A food delivery service plans to hire 200 new drivers in Middle Georgia

A popular food ordering and delivery service plans to hire hundreds of new employees in the Macon area.

Waitr announced Tuesday the company is looking to hire around 200 new contract drivers in Middle Georgia, according to a news release.

Drivers will be equipped with masks, gloves and sanitation spray provided by Waitr, and Waitr offers no-contact delivery as well.

Applicants must be 18 years old or older to apply and have a valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance and a smart phone, according to the release. People can visit waitrapp.com to apply.

Once drivers are activated as independent contractors, they can start immediately, and flexible schedules are available for drivers, according to the release.

“These positions will not only help satisfy the continued demand for delivery from restaurant partners, they will offer employment during a time when many companies are cutting back their workforce,” said Carl Grimstad, CEO and chairman of the Board of Waitr, in the release.
