Macon’s first Chick-fil-A will close while it’s torn down and rebuilt in 2020

The Chick-fil-A on Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard will be closing at some point this year for renovations.

Ken Reeder, general manager of the location, said they do not have an exact date for the closure, but he said it would probably happen around May 2020.

The store will be completely torn down and rebuilt, and it will be closed for construction for about three to four months, he said. He is not aware of all of the details about the project, Reeder said.

This isn’t the first time this Chick-fil-A closed for renovations.

In 2009, the store closed for a month for a 20-year remodel, according to Telegraph archives.

The Tom Hill location was the Atlanta-based company’s 13th free-standing store overall and the first in Middle Georgia built in 1989, according to archives.

The employees will help out at their sister location on Bass Road, also operated by David Clark, during the interim, and they will do detailed cleaning to the Tom Hill location before reopening.

“Employees will have plenty to do,” he said.
