Jimmy Johns has opened its second Macon store, and it’s downtown.

The Champaign, Illinois-based sandwich shop is at 781 Spring St. at Rose Park in the new Lofts at Navicent, according to a release.

“This will be our second store in Macon, and our team is excited to serve fresh, fast and tasty sandwiches to a new set of customers in the area,” owner William Hill said in the statement.

Hill plans to hire about 25 employees, and anyone interested in applying can visit www.snagajob.com or stop by the store, open daily 11 a.m.-11 p.m., and fill out an application.

The Lofts at Navicent, which includes an 88,000-square-foot, five-story building, was built for Navicent Health with dining and retail facilities on the first floor, medical offices and a fitness center for hospital employees on the second floor and apartments on the remaining floors.

It was developed by Sierra Development Group and built by Piedmont Construction, both based in Macon.

Founded in 1983, Jimmy John’s has more than 2,700 locations in 43 states.

The new Jimmy John’s in Macon will deliver sandwiches to your door if you are inside the delivery area, and it offers catering. Customers can stop by the new location, call the store at (478) 812-8887, or order online at online.jimmyjohns.com.

This is the third Jimmy John’s in Middle Georgia. There is a store at 4650 Forsyth Road in Macon and at 3123 Watson Blvd. in Warner Robins.
