New York City designer to open pop-up store in downtown Macon
Ross Riddle, the founder and lead designer of Rosser Riddle of New York City, “fell in love with Macon” after his first visit this fall.
He designed a shirt in honor of the Evening of Respect event celebrating what would have been Otis Redding’s 75th birthday, according to a news release.
Riddle liked Macon so much, he is bringing his soul apparel brand to Macon to open his first Rosser Riddle pop-up store at 368 Second St. from Nov. 29-Dec. 23.
His T-shirts and sweatshirts will feature Redding and other iconic musicians and their lyrics, the release said. A portion of the store’s proceeds will benefit the Otis Redding Foundation. Customers also will have the opportunity to pick up local Rock Candy Tours merchandise.
Riddle, a native southerner, launched Rosser Riddle in New York City in 2014.
“I wasn’t seeing the music I love properly represented in the clothing arena,” he said in the release. “So, I leaped at the opportunity to develop clothing that gives people the same feeling of nostalgia and love as listening to their renowned music.”
The store will be open 11 a.m-8 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-3 p.m Sunday.
