Kroger to hold job fair for veterans and their families to fill 1,000+ positions

AP

Kroger is hosting a job fair for veterans and their family members in an effort to fill more than 1,000 permanent positions throughout its Atlanta division, which includes Middle Georgia.

The job fair will be held in 188 stores throughout Georgia, Eastern Alabama and South Carolina, according to a news release from Kroger.

The event, which will be held 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 9 at each store, is an opportunity for veterans and their families to learn more about positions available within Kroger and at their local Kroger stores. Prior to attending the job fair, job applicants need to fill out an application on https://jobs.kroger.com/ by Monday. Applicants may use their smartphones or tablets to apply online.

“The Kroger Atlanta division is dedicated to contribute to the hiring of more than 100,000 transitioning service members and military veterans by 2020 with the Veterans Jobs Mission,” Glynn Jenkins, public relations director for Kroger’s Atlanta division, said in the release. “We look forward to hiring many hard-working veterans and their family members as associates who go above and beyond to create an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.”

The Veteran Jobs Mission brings together companies committed to hiring U.S. military veterans. Since 2011, more than 200 companies have joined.
