Macon paint store closes

Nearly two years ago, Ken White bought Macon Color Wheel, and earlier this year he thought maybe he would be able to add an employee in the future to call on builders and contractors.

Unfortunately, new construction in Middle Georgia has not improved as he had hoped.

White closed Macon Color Wheel on Saturday.

“There was just not enough volume to support us,” he said. “There is just nothing going on ... very little building going on.”

White began managing the paint and design store in February 2014 and bought it in December that year after the owners decided to sell it. Prior to that, he had worked for Morris Appliance for 25 years and was managing that store when it closed in January 2014.
