Prayer of the Day

Prayer for today (2/7/16)

How marvelous is your grace to us, O God. How glorious is your love. We stand amazed in your holy presence. We utter our prayer to you with every breath, from the depths of our longing. We confess our unbelief, in those moments when doubt overtakes us. We confess our lack of love for our neighbor. We confess our reluctance to become peacemakers. We confess our tendency to avoid the work that protects our earth and all that is In it. We confess our penchant for the violence that has become so prevalent in our world. We confess our failure to draw near to you when we are overwhelmed by the busy-ness of our lives. For all of these sins and omissions, we ask your forgiveness and for your grace that offers us second chances. Be ever near to us, O God, and lead us in the pathways of righteousness. Amen.
