Prayer for today (1/17/16)
We rest in your glory, O God, as we also languish in our own lonely worlds. From the top of the highest mountain to the depths of the sea, we find your love for us, and we marvel at the depth of the love you offer us. Yet, we spend our time walking in the valleys of life, longing to ascend with you to the mountaintop, yearning to truly feel your love for us in the depths of our being.
We rest In your glory, O God, as we also doubt our sacred worth. From everlasting to everlasting, we accept your amazing grace that tells us we are your cherished children. Yet, we languish in the valleys of doubt where our worth is in question. So we look up toward the mountain of hope, where we can feel your grace gift in the depths of our being.
We rest in your glory, O God, and we yearn for inner peace. In our warring world, we feel there is no peace. We search for peace in the midst of our inner turmoil and find ourselves still experiencing a kind of inward chaos. So we look up to the mountaintop, knowing that the sight of your face will bring peace to our hearts.
We rest in your glory, O God, and we give you thanks for all that you are to us. Amen.
