Prayer for today (12/8/15)

O Holy Jesus, "Just as I am, O Lord of God I come to Thee." These words of a beautiful hymn are so uplifting and heartfelt. You Lord, and you alone, understand our needs and wants.There is a place in every day where we can find you already there to listen, to heal, to comfort and to raise us up. I need you to help me understand this suffering and strife in today's world. There are words of doubt and despair among your people. There is a wind of turning away from your holy word. Today, I especially ask that you will be with our orphans. I know you hold them in your mighty hands and that we are summoned to care for them here on this Earth. Open our dimmed eyes to this need. Blessed Jesus, you are my everything. In your holy name, I pray. Amen.
