Prayer for today (11/22/15)
Dear God, we thank you for sending us autumn. The trees are beginning to put on their finest colors and we see your signature on everything. Thanksgiving will be here soon. It is much more than an autumn day in November. It is a time when we give thanks for the love of God, who makes all things possible. We thank you for what we have, and for what we had. We are thankful for our families, our church, our pastor and our friends. We sometimes get so busy we forget to stop and thank you for our everyday miracles. We thank you for the changing colors of leaves, the blue skies, the crisp cold nights, the days filled with sunshine, the rain that washes our world, the little pansies with their smiling faces and the time at the end of the day when we stop to admire an autumn sunset, knowing that there are millions of people out there admiring it with us. Let us not just recall the past. In anticipation, let us give thanks, and let it be "thanksgiving" everyday because you are worthy. Amen.
