Prayer of the day (10/16/15)
Gracious God, I come to you bringing the wounds of disappointment, the wounds of sin, the wounds of sorrow. Take my hand, God, and help me to rise up. I need to walk with renewed strength. I need the courage to be healed. To the blindness in me you say: "Shed your darkness. Look! See! You can be healed!" To whatever is withered, bent, crippled within me, you proclaim: "Rise up! Go and walk your best in the world. You can be healed!" To all the brokenness and woundedness of my soul, you promise: "You can be healed, my daughter. You can be whole, my son." Hold us close to you, God. Guide us through the wilderness places we wander into.
Calm our anxious fears, and lead us into healing streams and cleansing waters. Amen.
