Prayer for today (10/8/15)
Over the rough waters of life, Christ calls us. Surrounded by winds of doubt, God’s grace covers us. When we find ourselves in the midst of restless seas and storms of the spirit, God embraces us in everlasting arms of protection. God, sometimes we wonder why you don’t still the storms that rage around us, why you let the winds blow and the waves crash in on our lives. We are filled with questions, God, about how you deal with us. And questions about who you are. And questions about who we are. And questions about what having faith really means. And questions about miracles that never seem to happen for us. God, sometimes we come to you without much certitude. Yet we know that your grace will honor our questions. Sometimes we come to you wondering why in the world we bother. And yet we come to you, again and again, with hearts open wide. God, help us. Amen.
