Prayer for today (8/24/15)

Dear Lord, let us evaluate in our hearts our motives for the things we do for others. Let our deeds be a result of our active love for you and our fellow man and not seasoned with selfish ambitions and ulterior motives. Let us not be as the hypocrites seeking men’s praises, but rather seeking to please you Lord. Let us drop all egregious behavior and self-exaltations and rather seek to serve others with all our hearts and give ourselves completely to his secret service.
