It's Valentine's weekend! This is a wonderful weekend full of love, roses and chocolate. And it's time to tell the ones you love just how much you love them.

While you're letting your loved ones know how much you care, keep an eye on your fur babies because we think any gift coming into the house, especially chocolate, must certainly be intended for us.

Please keep chocolate way out of reach of any pet. It can be deadly to us. We're so observant watching every move you make with that heart-shaped box of chocolate-covered cherries. So the minute you put it on the coffee table, we can reach it and it will be dangerous. Depending on what kind of chocolate it is, the size of your pet and how much he eats, it can potentially be fatal to your furry family member.

I think it's so neat there's a holiday to celebrate love. When it comes to showing affection and giving sugar, I'm all in. And so is most every other pet. We're forever thinking of ways to show you our world revolves around you, and we think you're the most wonderful person ever created.

And you know what's really cool? So many people these days are realizing how special animals are. In fact, just recently there was a sweet example of how people came to the aid of a dog in need.

One of my dear friends, Mr. Chris Brown, was just finishing breakfast at the local Waffle House when he saw a lady in the parking lot with a large, beautiful dog she found in a motel parking lot. She was just passing through Macon and couldn't keep him but didn't want him to be harmed. Mr. Chris took him so the lady could continue her travels. What he didn't realize was the patrons inside the Waffle House were watching what was taking place with the dog. They began taking up a collection of money to help buy the dog food.

How sweet was this entire scene? A lady rescuing a lost dog from the dangers of the street, a man helping a lady get back on her trip and taking responsibility for the care of the dog and a restaurant full of strangers making sure the dog doesn't go hungry. This was love in action, and it just doesn't get any better than this.

I wish you a memorable Valentine's Day full of love and hugs. If you need someone to cuddle and snuggle, I would suggest you go to your local shelter and select the perfect addition to your life.

I'll let you in on a little secret: A pet will give you unconditional love, total acceptance and loyalty for a lifetime. Pets don't care what you look like, how much money you make or where you live. They'll just love you for being you. It's love on a leash and Cupid in a crate. Love every day of the year. Happy Valentine's Day.
